I spent many hours working alongside Elvis in our shared office at LSHTM. I remember fondly his kindness, intelligence, and work ethic. He would often be the first one in, and the last to leave. Sometimes, he would stream a football game on his laptop while he did work on the desktop. Always so professional and focused, it was a relief to know that even Elvis allowed himself to (kind of) take a break sometimes! Whenever he talked about his research, I was struck by his passion and expertise. He seemed capable of handling any situation and meeting every challenge. I would have loved to witness all the amazing things that he was sure to accomplish in his PhD and beyond. His passing is an incredible loss. May he live on in our memories and continue to inspire. My most heartfelt condolences to all family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Elvis.
